Research scope and product evaluation
AURIS investigates direct speech-to-speech translation and continuity of the speaker’s voice. The diagram illustrates the research direction; it is not a published benchmark or a guarantee of performance for a deployed system.
What needs to be evaluated
Translation accuracy, speaker similarity and conversational delay are separate criteria. Evaluation should cover both directions of each language pair, corrections, interruptions and the devices used in the pilot. A language target does not establish validated coverage for every pair.
From research to a workplace pilot
Hitoo Desktop is being developed to add multilingual audio to existing communication tools. An enterprise pilot defines the actual configuration, supported languages, data processing and acceptance criteria. Its capabilities must be assessed independently of the AURIS roadmap.
